‘We miss out genuine PILs’: SC dismisses PIL for regulating OTT content

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea for establishing an autonomous body to regulate content on OTT platforms, calling it a policy matter for the executive. The bench emphasized this issue requires extensive stakeholder consultations. The plea highlighted the lack of a regulatory body similar to the Central Board of Film Certification for OTT content.
