COAI, representing major telecom operators like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone-Idea, has urged the government to regulate OTT apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Google Meet. Citing security risks and lack of oversight, COAI’s Director General SP Kochhar emphasized the need for stringent regulations on these platforms to protect consumer data and maintain telecom network integrity.
