The Secret Service failed at its only job — protecting Trump

Rally attendees were asked to pass through metal detectors to ensure they weren’t carrying any weapons, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

But a witness told the BBC the gunman believed to have opened fire could be seen crawling on the roof of a nearby building with a rifle for several minutes.

The witness, who identified himself as Greg, said police did not act on warnings he and others gave because police did not know “what was going on” and did not have a good view of the roof.

The suspected gunman — named by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks — was also caught on camera preparing to open fire, as seen in footage obtained by TMZ.

One bystander was killed and two others were seriously injured before the gunman fired his gun. Trump was also hit in the ear. State police have said it is “too early” to determine exactly what happened.

David Dunn, professor of international politics at the University of Birmingham, said Trump’s life may have been saved if he had ducked after the first shot.

In this regard, Professor Dunn told BBC Radio 5 Live that, “He was obviously well trained by the Secret Service.” Before being escorted to a car by agents, Trump stood up again to raise his fist to the crowd.
