High-level committee to meet on July 9 to fix date for reopening of Jagannath temple ‘Ratna Bhandar’

The high-level committee, formed by the Odisha government to oversee the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee’s inventory of the Ratna Bhandar’s valuables, will meet on July 9 to set a date for reopening the temple treasury. Committee chairman Justice Biswanath Rath announced the need to produce the treasury’s duplicate key and prepare an SOP for potential lock-breaking, inventory, and storage during repairs. The Ratna Bhandar, unopened since 1978, became a significant political issue, with promises to reopen it for repairs and inventory.
