Mental Health Resource Guide presented by Intermountain Health

As Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC continue to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, the club wants to remind all of its fans, staff and players that they are never alone. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

In collaboration with club partner, Intermountain Health, they are supporting mental health in Utah by:

1. Online Help Option

Behavioral health clinics and online support options, including Connect Care, virtual appointments anywhere in Utah, Idaho or Nevada, and free guided mindfulness classes are available through Intermountain Health. These support options can be helpful in addressing many mental health concerns: anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol use, general mental health, problems at work, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts and behavior, and trauma.

Behavioral health access centers provide quick access to immediate crisis treatment, observation, and mental health treatment from licensed behavioral health professionals. Intermountain Health provides psychiatric and crisis care for people ages 18 and older. Their outreach centers are ideal for those experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Intermountain Health has four types of behavioral health outpatient clinics that provide high-quality care for adults, teens and children. They are able to diagnose and treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and many other health conditions. They offer many treatment methods like counselling, psychotherapy and mindfulness courses.

Dayspring is an Intermountain program dedicated to helping people recover from substance abuse disorders. This is done by developing strong coping skills and ways to resist drug or alcohol use. Dayspring provides patients access to psychiatry, primary care and family medicine to ensure patients receive the best care.

A behavioral health unit is an area of the hospital designed to stabilize someone who is having a mental health emergency. The main goal of the unit is to provide a safe space where people can receive treatment to recover from crisis.

Behavioral Health in Primary Care is a service provided by Intermountain Health through your primary care provider. They use a team-based approach to our health care through programs like mental health integration, collaborative care, and personalized primary care. These work together to meet your specific health care needs.

The Intensive Outpatient Program for Behavioral Health was established to help individuals who require treatment of a higher intensity than traditional individual psychotherapy, which often occurs weekly or once every other week. MH-IOP allows individuals to live in their communities while receiving treatment. Often, MH-IOP may be provided as a higher level of care, rather than the most intensive level of care, which involves inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or a residential treatment facility.
